Bail has been set at $95,000 for the man accused of attempting to rob six people at gunpoint in a Las Vegas park on July 25, 2016.
Elvis Campos demanded money and possessions from the six people in Freedom Park who were playing the popular augmented reality game Pokemon GO at 4 a.m. Monday morning. One of the players, drew his own firearm and shots were exchanged between him and Campos. Police have reported that the player did have a valid concealed handgun license. Who fired first, and the number of shots fired, is currently unknown. During the exchange, both Campus and the player were wounded though none of the injuries were life threatening.
Campos will have a preliminary hearing on August 11th for felony charges that include: armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Freedom Park is known to be a hot spot for Pokemon GO players to hunt for the virtual creatures. The police have not yet reported whether Campos targeted the game players at Freedom Park with the knowledge that many people visit the park looking for Pokemon.
